After back-to-back promotions, Wrexham are now in League One – just two divisions away from the promised land of the Premier League. While that is the ultimate goal for co-owners Ryan Reynolds and McElhenney, the Hollywood duo want to do it in a "sustainable" fashion.

When asked what his number one goal for the club is, after Reynolds' confirmation that they are following a "pretty comprehensive mission statement" at Wrexham, he told Collider: "I think if the assumption is that we're doing it the right way, which is the way that we hopefully back up consistently in the mission statement, that getting to the Premier League is the ultimate goal, and staying in the Premier League, and staying sustainable. But again, that's only assuming that we're doing it in a fashion that the community supports, because there are all sorts of ways to succeed, and we feel as though there are only a few paths that we feel would be ethically viable to do so."

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Reynolds and McElhenney have done a remarkable job since taking over Wrexham in 2021. Two straight promotions have put the Welsh side on the path towards their ultimate goal – the Premier League. However, the actors are likely to have to pump more funds in to make that a reality.
