Muller is into the final few months of his contract at his boyhood club Bayern Munich, with talks over a renewal between the player and the club reportedly reaching an impasse. Now, German newspaper has revealed what Bayern head coach Kompany told the club about Muller and his future at the Allianz Arena.

Per the report, Bayern Munich chiefs Max Eberl and Christoph Freund held discussions with Kompany over Muller's future at the club. The Belgian has made it clear that Muller will not have a prominent role in the squad for the 2025-26 season and that he should not expect significant playing time. However, the coach emphasised his appreciation for Muller's legacy at the club, acknowledging the invaluable experience and leadership he continues to bring to the table.
