Everton fans can start getting excited about the potential signing of Moussa Marega, after the striker’s agent reportedly confirmed their interest.

What’s the story?

It is still anyone’s guess who will be manager at Goodison Park next season, but that isn’t stopping Everton getting on with their transfer business.

According to reports last week, the Toffees are lining up an audacious swoop for Porto striker Moussa Marega, who has grabbed an incredible 20 goals in 24 league games this season.

The good news for Everton fans is that while Portuguese reports are often unreliable, the player’s agent has confirmed the interest in Marega.

“It is true that there are early contacts with several clubs, among them is Everton, but no decision has been made,” the striker’s agent reportedly said.

Good fit at Goodison?

The Mali international has formed a deadly partnership with Vincent Aboubakar, and fans will be hoping he can do the same thing with Cenk Tosun at Goodison.

After a successful loan spell with Vitória Guimarães, the 26 year-old has wowed Porto fans with his pace, power and deadly finishing. He seems a perfect fit for the Premier League.

Given the fantastic season Marega is having, the Toffees will probably face quite a bit of competition for the powerful striker, but he would be a major coup if they can pull it off.
