Whilst Spurs have held a long time interest in Brazilian international Leandro Damiao, it looks like being their North London rivals who will capture the highly rated player, with the Daily Mail reporting that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to make good on his promise to star striker RVP and make a couple of big money signings this January – and valued at around £25 million, this is about as big as you get.
Not only are Arsenal and Spurs interested in the player, but Juventus and Liverpool have also had their heads turned by Damiao, who’s value has increased from £15 to £25 million after scoring 40 goals in 52 games for Internacianal this year.
Wenger sees the striker as the perfect player to support Van Persie when leading the line, and also as a way to show intent to both rivals and his MVP to convince him to put pen to paper on a new contract at The Emirates.
The Brazilian hit man would certainly be a welcome sight for Gunners fans, but with a host of clubs after the forward, Wenger faces tough competition for the star, whose price looks set to only go higher as the transfer window draws ever closer.
