The Reds are back to winning ways and on top of the Premier League as all three attackers got on the scoresheet at Anfield
Liverpool bounced back from the disappointing defeat to Arsenal to restore their two-point lead at the top of the Premier League with a 3-1 win against Burnley on Saturday. Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez were on target to seal the vital points despite the home team being far from their best..
Just as Burnley looked to be taking a lift in confidence from their promising start to the game, Liverpool nabbed the opening goal when a corner came in and found Jota, who put his team ahead despite goalkeeper James Trafford's complaints of a foul.
The goal enhanced Liverpool's dominance but Burnley managed to fire back in the 45th minute with a fantastic header from Dara O'Shea after Josh Brownhill's cross from a corner and, given the tone of the half, it was a deserved leveller.
Liverpool, already forced into five starting XI changes from last week, were dealt a blow when Trent Alexander-Arnold was taken off at half-time, but that hardly affected them as his replacement, Harvey Elliott, crossed in for Luis Diaz to put them back in the lead. The goal was a controversial one, though, as Burnley felt it should have been disallowed for a foul from Alexis Mac Allister.
It appeared the second half would be all Liverpool but David Datro Fofana sparked fear into their back line when he capitalised on a Jarell Quansah mistake and burst through on goal but he couldn't bury it. The Chelsea loanee found himself clean through again shortly afterwards and sent it wide of the post.
The Anfield side were able to regain control and killed the game off when Elliott sent an inviting ball into the box for Nunez to nudge a difficult header beyond Trafford. He could have made it 4-1 right at the end but his finish was awful again.
GOAL rates Jurgen Klopp's players from Anfield…
GettyGoalkeeper & Defence
Caoimhin Kelleher (6/10):
Couldn't do much about the goal but was strong otherwise.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (7/10):
Got the assist from the corner and whipped in many dangerous balls as one of the main sources of danger until he went off at half-time.
Jarell Quansah (7/10):
Strong in the air and looked comfortable as Burnley came at him despite getting a yellow card less than 20 minutes in. Made a mistake to give away a chance and then missed a good goalscoring chance.
Virgil van Dijk (6/10):
Not his usual commanding self but helped stop the visitors from finding their way through despite promising attacks.
Andy Robertson (7/10):
Pushed high up and made some good runs in his first start since October. Replaced Alexander-Arnold as the key threat on the wing in the second half.

Alexis Mac Allister (5/10):
A bit too quiet as it took him too long to get into the game
Wataru Endo (7/10):
Fought hard in midfield and, although he put up no resistance against O'Shea for the equaliser, helped win the ball to get the second goal.
Curtis Jones (7/10):
Got the ball in some good positions and made a few incisive passes. Did well on the left after Alexander-Arnold went off.

Diogo Jota (7/10):
A top performance as he looked Liverpool's biggest attacking threat and did well to get the opening goal after Trafford flapped and missed the ball.
Darwin Nunez (6/10):
Worked hard but his team-mates struggled to get the ball to him for large spells. Finishing was bad again except for his header, which was expertly taken.
Luis Diaz (8/10):
Had some good runs at the Burnley defence and peppered the goal with shots throughout, getting a deserved goal.

Harvey Elliott (7/10):
Did well to set up both second-half goals as he was always available in dangerous positions.
Cody Gakpo (5/10):
On for the last 10 minutes and did not have many chances to impact the game.
Kostas Tsimikas (N/A):
Came on right at the end.
Bobby Clark (N/A):
No time to have any influence.
James McConnell (N/A):
Another last-minute introduction.
Jurgen Klopp (8/10):
His team had a rough start and gave away some dangerous chances but they did well to steal the lead and take control as the game wore on. After losing Alexander-Arnold, Elliott proved to be the perfect substitute to help secure the win.
